Parentech is currently in development. This policy covers our website, our early access subscription form, our contact form, and will be updated as our full platform, mobile application and marketplace services become available.
By using this website or submitting your information to us, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not submit your personal information to us.

3. Information We Collect
We only collect personal information that is necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Depending on how you interact with our website, we may collect:
- Identity and contact information: such as your full name, email address and phone number, when you subscribe for early access, contact us, or register interest as a professional or organisation.
- Enquiry information: such as the role you selected (for example family, professional, corporate, school, NGO, government or faith-based organisation), your plan of interest, and any message or additional details you choose to share with us.
- Technical information: such as your IP address, browser type, device type and general usage patterns, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy below.
- Communication records: such as records of correspondence if you contact us by email or phone.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric or financial account information) through this website. Once our full platform is launched, a separate and more detailed Privacy Policy will apply to account holders, covering any additional categories of information required to deliver our services, such as maintenance tracking or document storage.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect only for the following purposes:
- To add you to our early access waitlist and notify you when Parentech becomes available.
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form.
- To communicate with you about Parentech, including updates, launch announcements and relevant offers, where you have consented to receive these.
- To understand how our website is used, so that we can improve it.
- To comply with any legal, regulatory or contractual obligations that may apply to us.
- To protect the security and integrity of our website and systems.
We will never sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Our Lawful Basis for Processing
In line with POPIA, we only process your personal information where we have a valid lawful basis to do so, which may include:
- Consent: where you have voluntarily agreed to us processing your information, for example by ticking the consent box on our subscription form.
- Legitimate interest: where processing is reasonably necessary for our legitimate business purposes, such as responding to a query you have sent us, and does not unreasonably affect your privacy.
- Legal obligation: where we are required to process information to comply with South African law.
6. Sharing Your Information
We treat your personal information as confidential. We do not share your personal information with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate our website and communications (for example, email delivery or hosting providers), and who are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purpose we specify.
- Where you have specifically consented to being referred to a professional, organisation or partner within the future Parentech ecosystem (for example, a legal or financial professional in our marketplace).
- Where disclosure is required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Parentech, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of business assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information.
We do not transfer personal information outside of South Africa unless the recipient is subject to laws or contractual terms that provide an adequate level of protection, in line with POPIA.
7. Children's Information
Our website and early access forms are intended for use by parents, guardians, caregivers, professionals and organisations who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website.
Once our full platform is live, certain features may involve information about children (for example, in co-parenting tools or the Child Support Centre). In those cases, information about a child will only be processed by or with the consent of that child's parent, guardian or competent person, and always with the best interests of the child as our guiding principle, in line with the additional protections POPIA affords to children's information.
8. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or destruction. This includes measures such as restricting access to personal information to authorised personnel, using secure connections where appropriate, and reviewing our practices as our platform develops.
While we take your security seriously, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information to the best of our ability.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. For example:
- Early access waitlist information is kept until Parentech officially launches and you either activate a membership or ask us to remove your details.
- Contact form enquiries are kept for a reasonable period to allow us to respond and follow up, after which they may be archived or deleted.
You may request that we delete your personal information at any time, as set out in Section 10 below.
10. Your Rights Under POPIA
As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Be informed that we are collecting your personal information, and why.
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request that we correct or update any personal information that is inaccurate, outdated or incomplete.
- Request that we delete or destroy personal information that we are no longer authorised to hold.
- Object to the processing of your personal information, on reasonable grounds.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where our processing is based on consent (for example, unsubscribing from our early access communications).
